The Plot :

In Dan Brown’s ‘The Da Vinci Code’ symbologist Robert Langdon and cryptologist Sophie Neveu investigate the murder of the museum curator of the most famous museum in the world, The Louvre Museum. Near the victim’s body the police discover a cipher. Langdon is called upon to use his skills to decipher it.

This cipher leads them through a trail of other clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci, visible to all but cleverly disguised in the art, displayed in the museum. Langdon and Sophie soon discover that the curator was part of a secret society called ‘The Priory of Scion’, whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and da Vinci, among others. They discover that the curator was killed because he was protecting one of the most important secrets of the society, the location of the religiously important relic, the Holy Grail, which has been hidden for centuries.

In a breathless race through Paris, London, and beyond, Langdon and Neveu match wits with a faceless powerbroker that appears to work for Opus Dei—a clandestine, Vatican-sanctioned Catholic sect believed to have long plotted to seize the Priory’s secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle in time, the Priory’s secret—and a stunning historical truth—will be lost forever.

With an amazing blend of adventure, history, art and intrigue, The Da Vinci Code was an amazing read. It kept me on the edge of my seat and roped me in from the first page. In a word the book is unputdownable. A definite must read.
